Improvement Of Energy Indices And Environmental Of The Dining Room Of The University City Of Peru Implementing Energy Efficiency
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of the research work is to analyze the level of the energy and environmental indices of the dining room of the university city (CU) of the UNMSM, and to implement measures for its reduction. As part of the service provided by the CU, 140000 rations are offered per year, which generates an annual fluid energy consumption of 14000 gallons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), 11250 gallons of diesel-2 (D-2) and an estimated 107627 kWh of electricity. As a result of the analysis, a set of measures has been proposed to improve the energy and environmental indices of the CU. In this way, it will be possible to reduce fuel consumption by 2425 gal/year (18.5%) and electricity at 28380 kWh/year (26.37%); which means an annual economic saving of US$ 13547 and a reduction in CO2 emissions of 32.33 tons/year; these improvements will be achieved with an investment of US $ 14984, recovering the same in about a year.
